7 卫星体基本特性
卫星病毒或卫星核酸是依赖于与其共同侵染寄主细胞的辅助病毒进行繁殖的核酸分子,其核酸序列与辅助病毒基因组没有明显的同源性。核酸分子若含有编码外壳蛋白的遗传信息,并能包裹成形态学和血清学与辅助病毒不同的颗粒,称为卫星病毒;若核酸本身没有编码外壳蛋白的遗传信息,而是被包裹于辅助病毒编码的外壳蛋白中,称为卫星核酸。另一种说法是。卫星体是一类仅由核酸分子组成的亚病毒因子,在辅助病毒存在下能共感染宿主细胞,并进行混合复制,卫星体获得衣壳的结构基因后称为卫星病毒。
卫星病毒或卫星核酸与辅助病毒和寄主之间有着专化性关系,表现为对病毒病症状的高度特异性调节。一些卫星病毒或卫星核酸,如葡萄扇叶病毒卫星RNA、芜菁皱缩病毒卫星RNA、花生丛簇病毒卫星RNA等,能加重其辅助病毒在寄主上引起的症状。另一些卫星病毒或病毒核酸则能减轻寄主的发病症状,如烟草环斑病毒卫星RNA能减轻烟草环斑病毒在黑眼豇豆上引起的严重症状,使症状几乎消失。还有一些卫星病毒或病毒核酸,如烟草坏死卫星病毒和烟草花叶卫星病毒等,对于各自辅助病毒引起的症状都没有调节作用。
